About Me

Hi! I’m Alexander Zinn. I’m never entirely sure how to introduce myself, so I suppose I’ll talk about some things I’ve done and how I spend my time (even though that’s somewhat lower on the list of things that define us).

I’m originally from San Antonio, Texas, did my undergrad in New York at NYU Tisch, where I studied film & tv (and math, and business), and later got a masters degree at USC in their Peter Stark Producing Program.

So, breaking things down into sections, I spend about a third of my life working (... often more than a third). I work in film and television, love it, and can’t see myself doing anything else, and along the way I’ve had fun working some unexpected jobs, like doing drone photography for the Texas State Parks and producing videos for NASA.

I also spend about a third of my time sleeping (... often less than a third). I really enjoy sleeping, it’s very nice, I should do it more.

When I’m not working, sleeping, or doing errands, I distribute my remaining time doing other fun things, such as:

  • hanging out with friends, usually over food or some activity

  • exercising (a mixture of soccer, swimming, running, and the gym)

  • reading books [Goodreads], playing games [Backloggd], watching movies/tv [Letterboxd]

  • hiking, traveling, and photography [Photos]

  • organizing things (I like spreadsheets)

  • learning random new things (it’s fun!)

  • watching sports (particularly Chelsea FC and the San Antonio Spurs)

  • relaxing and doing nothing (very lovely)

  • and I’d like to get more into piano and gardening… we’ll see how that goes

This website is probably the best consolidation of my stuff, since I don’t use social media. You could check out my LinkedIn or IMDb, but most of the information there is already here as well.

I suppose that sums it up?
(Or really not at all, but at least it answers the question of how I tend to spend my time.)

Cheers,
Alexander
